Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised for her pioneering the science of eyewitness memory in children and using child victims to serve as witnesses in court. Her publications are numerous, she has received numerous grants and is the recipient of numerous awards both national and internationally. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the world regarding policies and research concerning children as victims within the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of several professional associations such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
